Clever ad

I'm not a fan of Starbucks (I dont drink coffee) and I'm even less of a fan of McDonalds...but this is 'clever' advertising.

Atiba,

McDonald's is capitalizing on the fact that $4.00 for Starbucks espresso is dumb and crazy. In all honesty, Starbucks espresso (and coffee) is way overrated. Personally, I think our local chain of Stewart's Shops (a convenience store chain that covers most of NY and parts of Mass and VT)serves a better cup of coffee, and their large (24oz) is only $1.50. Their large iced cofee is $1.89. Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks both charge wignificantly more. I think people are starting to figure this out and Starbucks is hurting because of this.
McDonald's will outsell Starbucks because people know McDonalds, and that simple little one liner, "Four bucks is dumb," will catapult them ahead of Starbucks. D.D. I'm not so sure about, because thay have an ad campaign that will give McD's a run for their money.
Something else McD's is starting to offer is free Wi-Fi in some of their urban locations.
Give me free Wi-Fi, a good cup of coffee, and a Big Mac, and I'll be heading for the golden arches (the kids will be happy too)
